DIY.ORG

I found diy.org (link takes you to the skills page) a couple of years back and I revisit it every once in awhile.  As summer approaches, and parents start to think about how their children’s time will be occupied, this website could be the solution to any child looking for something to do (and also provide their parents some peace of mind).  Not only does it provide plenty of activities to do in downtime, it also starts allowing an individual to develop a skill-set amongst a plethora of skills.  This hopefully allows them to expend energy in a healthy manner, continue to develop their mind, and also furthers their appreciation for how truly unique individuals can be.  For the entrepreneurial plug, this starts to build a foundation for the breadth of knowledge required and starts reinforcing the importance of experiencing a multitude of hobbies/skills to further develop your abilities and to also recognize opportunities more readily (please check out my essay on the importance of building your ‘Web of Experience’*).  I hope your children, and maybe even you, enjoy what this website has to offer!

*This essay is still a work in progress.
